2012 is the year for change

Today marks the start of a new year filled with new opportunities. 2012 has arrived. The year many athletes have been working very hard towards for the past 4 years. 2012 is a big year, it is an Olympic year!

I’m very excited for the opportunities that this year holds for me. I have set some big goals for 2012 and I’m looking forward to facing the challenges that lie ahead on my road towards achieving these goals.

On a bigger scale however, I truly feel that 2012 is the year for change in women’s cycling.

I feel 2012 is the year to educate the general public on women’s cycling.

I feel it is the year to expose the thrill and beauty of our sport.

Come on girls, we are not victims!

We are intelligent, well spoken, strong and talented women.

Let’s show the word how serious we are about being treated as professionals in a male dominated sport.

Let’s show the world how serious we are about growing our sport.

Let’s show the world how exciting our sport is.

Let’s take responsibility to influence change!

Stay tuned for more on this subject šŸ™‚
